Canon donates classrooms to schools in Yen Bai, Quang Binh

Canon Marketing Vietnam has handed over new classrooms to two schools in the central and northern regions.

Na Hau elementary and secondary school in the northern province of Yen Bai got two class rooms and a water closet while Ban Ke School in Quang Binh got one new classroom and upgrades to existing ones and a new toilet.

The total cost for the company was around VND750 million (US$33,000).

The charity activity is in line with the company’s stated commitment to support the community.

Hiroshi Yokota, CEO of Canon Marketing Vietnam, said: “Lending a hand to create a better environment for students to learn, develop and prosper is one of our top priorities at Canon.

“I am thrilled to see these beautiful students and their hard-working teachers have a better place to study, grow and play. I hope that our contribution here helps them all fulfill their dreams.”

Canon has so far assisted 55 schools, building 77 classrooms, and donated bicycles to 240 students, spending a total of around VNĐ5 billion ($219 million). — VNS
