BlueScope Zacs, a product line for civil and residential projects of NS BlueScope Vietnam, has donated 300 steel roofs to help the poor building houses in Viet Nam.

Donated Zacs®+ roofs are made with INOK Technology and manufactured on a modern production line in compliance with domestic and international standards, offering homeowners a safe shelter from rain and storms.

The donation is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility programme in Viet Nam, called Manh ghep yeu thuong (Pieces of Love), from October 2019 to December 2019.

“We expect our Australian-standard products and technologies to build steady roofs for poor and needy households. The donated houses will motivate the underprivileged to escape poverty and lead a better life,” said Vo Minh Nhut, Country President, NS BlueScope Vietnam.

“We have never dreamed of a house with a durable roof to shelter us during the rain or cold seasons. We are very happy with the donated roof,” said Pham Van Thu, a resident in An Nhut Commune, Long Dien Ward, Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province who received a steel roof from the programme.

As a member of the joint venture between Australian BlueScope Steel Limited and Japanese Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation, NS BlueScope Vietnam is now operating three factories in Phu My, Bien Hoa and Ha Noi, providing the market with 156,000 tonnes of high-quality coated steel yearly for big construction projects, hi-tech agricultural solutions, small and medium factories and civil buildings. — VNS
