HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — The French supermarket chain Big C has signed memoranda of understanding with 11 Vietnamese businesses that have committed to supply goods that meet requirements of the modern retail chain.

The businesses, all located in the southern region, include Ba Giao Khoe 55555 Salted Fish Company, Tien Anh Almond Cake Establishment, Ba Khanh Rice Noodle and Vermicelli Establishment, My Hoa Nam Roi Pomelo Co-operative, Nguyen Khang Garden and others.

The deals were signed at a conference on supply-demand connectivity between producers in rural areas and distributors, held by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the HCM City People's Committee on Tuesday.

The conference aim was to encourage consumption of domestic goods and to enhance co-operation among management agencies, producers and distributors in order to create effective supply chains. — VNS
