HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — Supermarket chain Big C on September 15 renewed the agreement with the Viet Nam – French Centre for Management Training (CFVG) for training people for its top management.
The "Mini MBA" programme for 2014-15 term is expected to cost VND2 billion (US$94,400), with the French supermarket providing full scholarships as well as subsidies for lunch and transport, and a monthly stipend for 11 trainees chosen from 168 candidates, including its own staff.
The trainees will study at CFVG and intern at Big C outlets during the course.
Duong Thi Quynh Trang, the supermarket's HR director, said the country's retail industry has developed strongly in recent years and attracted a number of foreign retailers, leading to large demand for human resources, especially in senior management positions.
The training programme aims at building talent for key positions in the future, serving the supermarket's expansion plans as well as its long-term development in Viet Nam, she said.
Big C and the CFVG yesterday issued certificates to 10 people who graduated this year. The training agreement is for a year at a time.
