HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Big C supermarket chain received the Golden Dragon Award for the seventh consecutive year for its excellent business performance in 2014 at a ceremony held in Ha Noi on March 21.
Despite economic difficulties last year, the supermarket managed to achieve satisfactory revenue and opened four new stores to raise its total number of outlets to 30.
It also operated programmes to help local small- and medium-sized suppliers, present gifts to needy people during the Tet holiday and International Children Day, and others.
Big C annually exports about 1,000 containers of Vietnamese goods to its overseas supermarket chain.
Last year, it successfully organised Vietnamese Good Week in France to further promote Vietnamese goods abroad.
Organised annually by the Viet Nam Economic Times in collaboration with the Foreign Investment Agency, the awards recognise the achievements of foreign-invested companies that record outstanding business performance and make a significant contribution to the development of Viet Nam's economy, and boost investment and international trade. — VNS
