Big C opens new Quy Nhon store

HCM CITY — French supermarket chain Big C on May 16 opened a hypermarket in Quy Nhon City in the central province of Binh Dinh, the companys 28th outlet in Viet Nam.

Built with an investment of US$9.6 million, Big C Quy Nhon has a total area of nearly 24,000sq.m square metres, which includes a supermarket, shopping centre, entertainment areas and parking.

The supermarket occupies 5,300 sq.m and offers about 40,000 varieties of items, including food, garments and textiles, household utensils and electric appliances, with 95 per cent of them made locally.

In addition, nearly 80 boutiques and kiosks from domestic and international brands sell their goods in leased spaces in the stores lobby.

Like other hypermarkets under its chain, Big C Quy Nhon applies green technologies to save energy and protect the environment.

Big C marked the opening of its new outlet with a VND100 million ($4,750) donation to the local fund for the poor. — VNS
