HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Bao Viet Fund on November 9 launched the Investment Management Solution (IMS), an instrument that will help it manage diversified investment assets better.
It is the first fund management firm in Viet Nam to use a professional investment management software system in compliance with international standards. The IMS was developed by the HPT-Credence joint venture in March 2015.
The IMS consists of two modules, which will allow Bao Viet Fund, a part of finance insurance corporation Bao Viet Holdings, to optimise its portfolio management and process transactions comprehensively, the company said in its press release.
The company will be able to “minimise potential risks, increase productivity of business workflows as well as cut down operating costs and simplify/automate regulatory compliance of state policies.”
The software is linked with the US-based financial data media company Bloomberg, which assures that the “data is accurate, activities are scheduled and reports can be generated and emailed as per configuration.”
The software is user friendly and configurable, which will make it easier for the Bao Viet Fund’s clients to diversify their portfolios.
“Obtaining a professional investment management system will give Bao Viet Fund an obvious advantage in getting more international and domestic enterprises as clients,” said Dau Minh Lam, CEO of Bao Viet Fund.
It would also help Bao Viet Fund provide advanced financial products for its increasingly demanding individual customers, he said, adding that this was the company’s first sustainable step to enter the retail fund management market in the near future.

HPT’s software solution team, with its strong technical experience and capacity, has set this project as top priority and closely cooperated with Bao Viet Fund and Credence to meet the project objectives,” said Dinh Ha Duy Linh, CEO, HPT Vietnam Corporation. The new system was expected to lay the foundation for popularising technology applications in automating investment management systems of fund management companies like Bao Viet Fund in particular and of credit organisations and financial institutions in Viet Nam, Linh said.
“This project was awarded to Credence Analytics and HPT after a thorough evaluation of multiple international vendors providing world class investment management software,” said Avadhanam Vijaya Simha, CEO of Credence Analytics.
“With the success of this project, Credence Analytics with support from HPT will be introducing its complete range of products to the banks and financial institutions in Viet Nam,” he said. — VNS
