Bamboo Airways has started selling tickets for its Viet Nam-Czech Republic route priced from VND4.55 million (US$197) one way, the airline announced on Monday.
The route, which will become operational from March 29, 2020, makes Bamboo Airways the only airline operating a direct flight connecting the Czech Republic and ASEAN region.
The carrier will provide two flights per week on Wednesdays and Sundays on this route, its deputy general director Truong Phuong Thanh said, adding that the frequency will be increased depending on passenger demands.
The number of Vietnamese visitors to the Czech Republic has also increased steadily at the rate of over 10 per cent annually in recent years, according to Airport IS statistics.
In the first ten months of 2019, nearly 40,000 Vietnamese tourists travelled to Prague by air, it said.
Meanwhile, Czech demand for travel to Viet Nam is also high, with their most in-demand destinations including Ha Noi, HCM City, Vinh City of central Nghe An Province, Da Nang and Nha Trang.
In the first ten months of 2019, there were nearly 34,000 Czech tourists to Ha Noi and almost 10,000 visitors to HCM City.
In the last two years, Da Nang has been attracting the attention of Czech tourists with a sudden increase of more than 400 per cent, from 328 in 2018 to 1,114 in the first ten months of 2019. — VNS
