Amazon Web Services (AWS) recently launched AWS Lift in Viet Nam to help small and medium businesses (SMBs) get started on their digital transformation journey.

New and existing customers that join the programme will receive a starter pack of AWS credits over 12 months, providing access to all 200 fully featured services on AWS, a comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform.

The programme will help eligible SMBs experience the benefits of AWS without worrying about associated costs.

Accounting for 98 per cent of the total number of businesses in Viet Nam, SMBs contribute 50 per cent of the country's GDP and provide employment for more than 70 per cent of the workforce. The current economic environment has increased financial pressure on all businesses, particularly SMBs with limited finances to weather rising inflationary pressures.

In Viet Nam, AWS has helped thousands of SMBs across industries digitally transform their businesses by leveraging the power of AWS cloud, including customers from agriculture, education and online management training, financial services, manufacturing and retail and consumer goods.

With a minimum billing fee of just $1 and no lock-in periods or hidden fees, AWS Lift helps alleviate cost pressures and provides SMBs with a commitment free approach to get started on AWS.

“SMBs are looking to adapt their business models given the current macroeconomic environment, and this is where technology can help. AWS enables SMBs to be more innovative and resilient as they accelerate transformation in the face of ambiguity and change. Through programs such as AWS Lift, we demonstrate our commitment to invest in and empower SMBs of every size and industry in Viet Nam to digitise their business and unlock their economic potential,” said Gunish Chawla, managing director, mid-market enterprise & SMB, ASEAN, AWS.

"AWS Lift builds on our long-term commitment to Viet Nam, demonstrated by investments in local infrastructure, and support for local SMBs to support the country’s digital transformation and economic growth."

AWS Lift is one of many AWS programmes designed to help Vietnamese businesses to grow. In addition to supporting SMBs, AWS provides credits, technical support, and training to support startups to grow. Hundreds of thousands of startups around the world, including Vietnamese businesses, have benefitted from AWS Activate. Since 2020, Amazon has provided more than $2 billion in AWS credits to help startups accelerate and grow their businesses. — VNS
