Airbus has brought its defence, space, communications, and intelligence solutions to the inaugural Defense and Security Expo that opened in Ha Noi on October 2.
The European companys products include military aircraft, the very-high resolution AstroBus-S Earth observation satellite and others.
Airbus manufactured and launched VNREDSat-1, Vietnams first Earth observation satellite in 2013, enabling Vietnam to monitor and study the effects of climate change, predict and take measures to prevent natural disasters and manage natural resources.
It is currently working with several Vietnamese government agencies and educational institutions to understand the countrys requirements.
Johan Pelissier, head of Airbus Defence and Space, Asia-Pacific, said: “We are already long-time partners in the space sector. Looking ahead we can strengthen this close relationship by working together on projects related to Earth observation and satellite technology, in particular for remote sensing and intelligence applications.” — VNS
