AirAsia named world's best low-cost airline for 7th year in a row

HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — AirAsia was named the World's Best Low Cost Airline for the seventh straight year at the World Airline Awards organised by aviation consultancy Skytrax at the Paris Air Show on June 16.

Tony Fernandes, the group CEO of AirAsia, said, "We faced many challenges this past year but I am proud to say that our staff banded together for our guests and we have emerged stronger than ever.

"To be named the ‘World's Best' for the seventh consecutive year is an incredible honour."

The AirAsia Group comprises short-haul low-cost airlines based in several Asian countries.

The Skytrax World Airline Awards is a global award for airline excellence, with 19 million customer surveys completed world-wide by over 160 countries across the globe, measuring airlines across 41 key performance indicators. — VNS
