AIA Vietnam extends and expands financial assistance programme for doctors and medical employees participating in COVID-19 prevention

AIA (Vietnam) Life Insurance Company Limited (AIA Vietnam) has promised to offer financial assistance to medical workers on the frontline who are diagnosed to be positive with the SARS-CoV-2 virus in Da Nang, Quang Nam and some other provinces.

It is part of the extended and renewal financial assistance programme, worth up to VND23 billion (US$990,954), which AIA Vietnam has allocated to the teams of doctors and frontline medical staff.

It is meant for doctors, nurses, technicians, pharmacists, other pharmacy staff, administrative staff, ambulance drivers, security guards, service staff, cleaners, cooks and volunteers.

Those diagnosed with the disease will get a one-time grant of VND10 million ($430.3) and the families of those who die will get VND100 million.

Wayne Besant, CEO of AIA Vietnam, shared: “With this decision to provide financial aid, we want to express our appreciation and companionship to all those doctors and medical staff, with the hope of working together in solidarity in the fight against the pandemic.”
