HA NOI (Biz Hub) – The AIA group has seen 37 per cent growth in value of new businesses (VONB) to US$1.26 million till June 2016, the board of directors of the group have reported.
The group has also seen a 31 per cent increase in annualised new premiums (ANP) to $2,355 million during the same period.
It recorded a strong operating profit growth with embedded value (EV) operating profit up 28 per cent to $2.896 million and earned an after-tax profit of up 14 per cent to $1.956 million while its earnings per share rose 14 per cent to 16.34 US cents.
The board has declared a 17 per cent increase in the interim dividend for 2016. This demonstrates the strong financial performance and the confidence in the future outlook for the group. The consistent execution of the strategy, and the strong fundamentals in the region, will enable the company to continue to generate sustainable value for its shareholders, officials noted. — VNS
