VN-Index opens new week on a positive note


The market benchmark ended higher on Monday morning, while the HNX-Index continued last week's trend, down more than 1 per cent.

On the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange, the VN-Index increased 0.18 per cent to 1,168.91 points. In the morning trading session, 214 stocks climbed with 32 hitting the intra-day limit growth, while 224 stocks decreased.

The gain was boosted by an increase of heavyweight stocks. The VN30-Index rose 0.24 per cent to end the morning session at 1,159.31 points although more stocks declined. Accordingly, twelve of the 30 large-cap stocks in the VN30 basket advanced, while fifteen stocks fell.

FLC Faros Construction Joint Stock Company (ROS) was the only stock of the large-cap stocks to hit nearly 7 per cent this morning. The share price climbed 6.78 per cent to VND4,570.

Other stocks also posted an increase of more than 1 per cent like Masan Group Corporation (MSN) up 4.18 per cent to VND97,200, Mobile World Investment Corporation (MWG) up 3.22 per cent and Hòa Phát Group Joint Stock Company (HPG) up 2.63 per cent.

On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HXN-Index decreased 1.27 per cent to end the morning session at 237.07 points. The HNX30-Index also fell by 1.3 per cent to 362.77 points. — VNS
