VN-Index gains over 9 points on real estate stocks

On the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange, the market benchmark VN-Index increased by 9.33 points, or 0.71 per cent, to 1,323.55 points.

The market's breadth was neutral with 179 stocks climbing while 178 stocks slid. However the liquidity was lower than yesterday as over 383.2 million stocks were traded on the southern market, worth VND12.75 trillion (US$554.8 million).

The index's expansion was boosted by large-cap stocks, especially real estate stocks.

The VN30-Index, tracking 30 biggest stocks on HoSE, jumped 11.4 points, or 0.79 per cent, to 1,459.61 points. Of the VN30 basket, 15 stocks inched higher while 13 fell and two stayed unchanged.

Real estate stocks dominating the trend this morning, with Vingroup JSC (VIC) the biggest gainer, up 6.14 per cent.

Other real estate developers Vinhomes JSC (VHM) and Novaland (NVL) also posted big gains this morning, up 2.22 per cent and 1.05 per cent, respectively.

Banking stocks including Vietcombank (VCB) and Techcombank (TCB) also contributed to the rally.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange (HNX), the HNX-Index rose 0.14 per cent to 315.37 points.

Meanwhile, UPCOM-Index saw a drop of 0.22 per cent to 87.16 points. VNS
