HA NOI (Biz Hub)— The Vinh Long Import-Export Manufacturing Joint Stock Company has launched its investment project in Arkansas' Morriltion City , becoming the first Vietnamese private company to do so in the US.
The Vietnamese company specialises in handicraft products that are made from natural fibre. Its revenue exceeded US$20 million last year and it is employing nearly 10,000 workers.
Its $5 million project will manufacture storage furniture and kitchenware tailored to the demand from the North American market.
Speaking at the November 21 ceremony to launch the project, Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe welcomed the company's decision to expand trade ties with the US city, contributing to local socio-economic development.
