HÀ NỘI — The Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM Hanoi 2025) officially opened on Thursday under the theme 'Developing Green Destinations, Enhancing Vietnamese Tourism'.
Organised by the Vietnam Tourism Association, this flagship event of the country’s tourism sector underscores a national commitment to fostering growth through sustainability and environmentally responsible practices.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trịnh Thị Thủy praised the resilience and innovation demonstrated by tourism businesses in recent years. Despite considerable challenges, the sector has made significant strides – investing in workforce development, expanding market reach, launching new tourism products and intensifying promotion.
To establish tourism as a key economic driver in this new development phase, she stressed the need to prioritise the creation of innovative tourism offerings, high-quality workforce training, expanded promotional strategies, market diversification and long-term competitiveness.
She reaffirmed the ministry’s strong support for the Vietnam Tourism Association’s initiatives, expressing confidence in its role as a vital connector between enterprises and policymakers, and as a driving force in steering Vietnamese tourism towards a more sustainable, professional and forward-looking future.
This year’s event has drawn the participation of tourism businesses from 56 provinces and cities across Việt Nam, alongside representatives from 16 countries and territories. It features around 450 booths hosted by over 600 organisations and enterprises, with international exhibitors accounting for 15 per cent.
According to the Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Tourism Association, Cao Thị Ngọc Lan, the fair brings a fresh wave of green tourism – a rising global trend.
