HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — The Viet Nam Dairy Products Joint Stock Co. (Vinamilk) is one of five Vietnamese companies listed in the top ASEAN 100 by Nikkei Asian Review, a newswire that covers business in Asia.
The ASEAN 100 features the 100 most powerful and influential companies around Asia.
The list included 25 companies from Singapore, 22 from Malaysia, 25 from Indonesia, 22 from Philippines and 25 from Thailand.
Four other Vietnamese firms are also in the list such as Vietcombank, FPT, PVGas, and Vingroup.
According to Nikkei Asian Review, Vinamilk is the Viet Nam's biggest dairy companies that makes up half of the local market share. Its market capitalization is the second largest in Vietnam at around $5.5 billion.
Forbes magazine recently selected Vinamilk as one of the top 50 listed enterprises in Viet Nam.
In ten months of this year, Vinamilk's revenue was VND26.924 trillion ($1.28 billion), contributing State budget of VND3.22 trillion, an increase of 8.78 per cent over the same period of last year.—VNS
