Lien topped a list of 50 figures, nearly half of whom are from HCM City and 12 from Ha Noi.
The honour was bestowed on her based on various criteria including business performance, human resource management efficiency and innovation capacity. The judging panel was composed of the nation's leading economists and successful entrepreneurs.
The local media acknowledged Lien's achievements of continually expanding the business and improving productivity and profits despite the latest economic crisis, noting that the resultant award was not that surprising when considered in this light.
Vinamilk is now the largest domestic private firm, with annual revenues amounting to some US$1 billion, they reported.
In 2012, Lien was listed by American business magazine Forbes among Asia's 50 most powerful businesswomen for helping Vinamilk become one of the most profitable companies in the country and gaining the respect of the entire region.
Shares of Vinamilk, or Viet Nam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company, closed up 1 point to reach VND141,000 ($6.71) per share on Thursday on the HCM City Stock Exchange. ― VNS
