National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines is offering passengers tickets priced from zero dollars on routes between HCM City and Kuala Lumpur/Singapore (equivalent to US$66 and $88, respectively, with taxes and fees included) until the end of next month.

The super-saving tickets are applied for HCM City-Kuala Lumpur flights departing from February 24 to May 20, 2020 and for those on the HCM City-Singapore route from February 24 to May 30, 2020, the airline said in a statement.

At the same time, the airline is implementing the “Early Birds, Special Deal” promotion programme on over fifty international routes as part of an activity co-executed by the Viet Nam Tourism Association to stimulate tourism and promote safe international destinations to passengers in the first half of 2020.

Under the campaign, passengers will have the opportunity to book round-trip flights to/from countries in Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, Europe, and Australia at prices starting from $9, $29, $249 and $399, correspondingly.

In a separate move, Vietnam Airlines said it has resumed some services on domestic and international flights with durations of less than 2.5 hours, as there have been signs COVID-19 has been brought under control in Viet Nam.

In-flight meals, beverage and media services had been restricted on its flights to prevent the spread of the acute respiratory disease to passengers and crew members, it said on Monday, adding that the restoration of these services strictly complies with health and safety regulations.

Accordingly, passengers in the business and premium economy classes will enjoy all services like in the past such as hot meals, beverages and entertainment.

The airline has also resumed the meal service for those in economy class, it said.

The domestic routes with service restoration consist of those between Ha Noi and HCM City, Can Tho, Phu Quoc; between HCM City and Hai Phong and Van Don.

The beneficiary international routes are those linking Ha Noi with Vientiane, Siem Reap and Phnom Penh, Bangkok, Myanmar, Malaysia, Kaohsiung; linking HCM City with Vientiane, Siem Reap, Phnom Penh, Bangkok, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Meanwhile, services on other international routes haven’t been affected during the COVID-19 outbreak. — VNS
