This announcement was made by the airline's chairwoman, Nguyen Thanh Ha, in front of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the Hai Phong Investment Promotion Conference held in the northern port city on September 19.
The new destinations will increase the number of routes to nine that are operated by Vietjet from Cat Bi airport, Ha said.
"Thanks to its favourable geographic location and its being at the socio – economic center of the north-eastern region, Hai Phong City enjoys many positive conditions to develop its tourism, especially the many goods and services oriented to international tourists," she said.
Ha also said she believed that these new international routes will not only assist Hai Phong residents and tourists in their travel plans to international destinations, but also help to boost trade and economic exchange among the city and its partners, along with local residents' foreign investment growth.
