HA NOI (Biz Hub) — One of Viet Nam's largest commercial banks has joined forces with an e-commerce retail company and a digital linkage service provider in enabling customers to make online payments.
At the signing ceremony on the agreement for providing joint services on September 19, officials of the Bank for Foreign Trade of Viet Nam (Vietcombank), VinE-com Ltd Liability (VinEcom) and Smartlink Card Service Joint-Stock Company (Smartlink) vowed to provide safe and convenient payment services to their customers.
Vietcombank Deputy General Director Dao Minh Tuan said at the ceremony that Vietcombank was the first to provide electronic payments in Viet Nam.
Tuan added that the bank aimed to develop its retail market. He expressed hopes that the co-operation reached with VinE-com and Smartlink would blossom.
Vietcombank provides financial and banking services, including card services, to its customers and currrently dominates the bank card market, earning 90 per cent of the country's international and 70 per cent of its domestic card transaction revenues.
VinGroup's VinEcom aims to create professional and reliable online retail channels for VinGroup, its partners and other service suppliers.
Smartlink operates a system that digitally links 46 banks and financial institutions with service providers. It connects electric transaction channels, including automated teller machines, mobile phones and the internet, that accepts transactions using more than 65 million bank cards. — VNS
