HA NOI (Biz Hub) - Vietcapital Bank has appointed Le Anh Tai to be its new chair, replacing Nguyen Thanh Phuong, who will go on maternity leave.
Phuong will stay on the bank's management board for the remainder of the 2010-14 term.
Born in 1980, Phuong studied banking and finance at Ha Noi's National Economics University and got her Masters degree in finance management at International University in Geneva, Switzerland.
Phuong, who has chaired Vietcapital Bank since February 2012, is also chair of Vietcapital Securities and Vietcapital Asset Management.
Her successor Le Anh Tai, 41, is currently the bank's deputy general director. He previously served as general director of Viet Nam Tin Nghia (Viet Trust) Bank and deputy general director of Kien Long Bank.
The bank's after-tax profits reached VND204 billion (US$9.8 million) last year, a decrease of 24 per cent compared with 2011. Its credit growth stood at nearly 78 per cent. -- VNS
