Kuwaiti shares accounted for the biggest proportion in the index (31.48 per cent).
Viet Nam and Kuwait were followed by Morocco (9.87 per cent), Nigeria (6.29 per cent) and Bahrain (5.87 per cent).
Vietnamese shares included in MSCI Frontier Markets Indexs top 10 constituents were property developer Vingroup, Vietnam Dairy Products JSC (Vinamilk) and realty firm Vinhomes.
Their weights in the index were 4.27 per cent, 3.10 per cent and 3.04 per cent, respectively.
If Kuwait is upgraded to the Emerging Markets Index in 2020, the weight of Vietnamese shares in MSCI Frontier Markets Index may increase to 25.2 per cent. — VNS
