HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Vietnamese Ambassador to Italy and Malta Nguyen Hoang Long delivered a statement at the first round-table workshop in La Valletta, capital of Malta on Monday.

He voiced hope that the Mediterranean nation will make it easier for Viet Nam to open financial and banking establishments there on the back of its advantageous legal and taxation system.

Commercial Counsellor Bui Vuong Anh spoke highly of Malta's extensive expertise in navigation, logistics, foreign trade, banking and finance, and tourism services.

Lying strategically on a maritime route linking Asia, the Middle East, North Africa and Europe, Malta is regarded as a gateway for Vietnamese goods once Viet Nam and the Europe Union sign a free trade agreement in the future, Anh said. — VNS
