Viet Nam, Malta identify companies to liaise on trade


Malta's Demajo Group and Viet Nam's I.value Joint Stock Company will co-ordinate activities between the two countries to boost trade and economic co-operation.

HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — Malta's Demajo Group and Viet Nam's I.value Joint Stock Company will co-ordinate activities between the two countries to boost trade and economic co-operation, the Maltese consulate in HCM City announced at a ceremony on September 21 to mark the 50th anniversary of the country's Independence Day and 40th anniversary of bilateral ties.

"For future directives, the two countries have identified the priority areas for focused collaboration such as economy, trade, financial investment and tourism," the European nation's honorary consul, Huynh Trung Khanh, said.

"Malta is a gateway for Viet Nam to Europe, Africa, and Viet Nam is a gateway to Southeast Asia for Malta."

Demajo is a large, reputed conglomerate recommended by the Maltese President Louise Coleiro Preca, he said.

Speaking at the event, HCM City People's Committee Deputy Chairman Le Manh Ha appreciated the Maltese people's sentiments towards Viet Nam's struggles for liberation.

Also on the occasion, a Malta Week in Viet Nam from September 21-26 was launched. It will feature activities focusing on trade promotion, and enable businesses to learn more about trade, shipping, customs, and finance in Malta, and find partners to connect with the European, African, and Middle Eastern markets. — VNS
