Viet Nam-Japan joint contractor builds cable-stayed bridge


A joint-venture contractor between Japan and Viet Nam has signed an agreement with the Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) to build Binh Khanh cable-stayed bridge.

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — A joint-venture contractor between Japan and Viet Nam has signed an agreement with the Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) to build Binh Khanh cable-stayed bridge.

The bridge is part of the project to build Ben Luc-Long Thanh expressway, which runs through HCM City and southern Long An province.

The road includes a total of 20km of bridges, including the 3km-long Binh Khanh Bridge that crosses Soai Rap River and the 3.2km-long Phuoc Khanh Bridge over the Long Tau River.

The agreement to build Binh Khanh bridge was signed between the VEC and the joint-venture contractor between Shimizu Corporation of Japan and Vinaconex Engineering Construction & Investment Joint Stock Company (Vinaconex E&C) of Viet Nam on June 9.

The package, with a total length of 2.76km, includes construction of Binh Khanh bridge and a viaduct crossing Nha Be and Can Gio Districts in HCM City.

The total value of the contract package is around US$170 million and the project will be implemented in 47 months.— VNS
