HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Several Italian industrial associations have shown their readiness to share their technology with Vietnamese partners in the production of leather shoes, garments, wooden furniture and automatic machines.
At a roundtable conference, co-organised by the General Confederation of Italian Industry (Confindustria) and the Trade Office at the Vietnamese Embassy in Italy's northern Vigevano town on Sunday, Commercial Counsellor Bui Vuong Anh from the Vietnamese Embassy highlighted many opportunities for foreign enterprises investing in the Vietnamese market, saying that Viet Nam had recently signed two free trade agreements with the Republic of Korea and the Eurasian Economic Union.
A number of representatives of Italian industry associations put forth recommendations on specific contents for cooperation, including technology transfer. In particular, UCIMU, the Italian automation systems and ancillary products manufacturers' association, expressed their interest in establishing a joint venture with Viet Nam for production and technology transfer.
The conference was held under the framework of a programme to promote economic collaboration activities as signed between the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade and Italy's Ministry of Economic Development at the first meeting of the mixed commission for economic cooperation last November.
Detailed collaboration in four sectors will be discussed at the committee's second meeting to be held in Italy in September. — VNS
