Việt Nam is emerging as a key hub for South Korean semiconductor investment in chip design, workforce development, and testing, a forum in Seoul heard Thursday.

SEOUL — Việt Nam is increasingly seen as an attractive destination for semiconductor investments, particularly in chip design, workforce development, and post-production testing, from South Korean enterprises, a forum heard in Seoul on Thursday.
During the event, Vietnamese Ambassador Vũ Hồ highlighted the strategic geopolitical and economic ties between Việt Nam and South Korea, emphasising the vast potential for bilateral cooperation in the semiconductor industry, especially in design, training and manufacturing.
For his part, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Innovation Centre Võ Xuân Hoài reaffirmed Việt Nam’s proactive efforts in developing a robust semiconductor ecosystem, backed by a favourable legal framework designed to attract global enterprises and investments in semiconductors and artificial intelligence (AI).
Meanwhile, Lee Dong-chul, CEO of Hana Micron Group, praised Việt Nam’s strong government support, advanced infrastructure, and high-quality workforce, which made the country an appealing destination for high-tech enterprises.
Held as part of SEMICON Korea 2025 in Seoul, the event, which drew over 150 delegates from leading Korean and global enterprises, including ARM, SK, Samsung and Hana Micron. It aimed to strengthen cooperation and attract investment from South Korea into Việt Nam’s burgeoning semiconductor and high-tech industries.
The business-matching events at SEMICON Korea 2025 offered Vietnamese businesses an opportunity to showcase their potential in the semiconductor and high-tech industries, fostering international cooperation in these fields. — BIZHUB
