Tuy Hoa Airport opens new aviation zone


The Airports Corporation of Viet Nam opened a new civil aviation zone at Tuy Hoa Airport in the central province of Phu Yen on Sunday.

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Airports Corporation of Viet Nam opened a new civil aviation zone at Tuy Hoa Airport in the central province of Phu Yen on Sunday.

The US$400 billion (US$19 million) zone, built in February 2012, includes an aircraft bay stretching over 30,000 sq.m and capable of housing three A321 planes; as well as a 4,000 sq.m terminal that will serve 300 passengers per hour during peak time.

Work began on the project in February 2012.

Tuy Hoa Airport, around five kilometers south of Phu Yen, is expected to receive up to 70,000 passengers this year, a year-on-year increase of 10 percent. — VNS
