HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — More than 1,065 companies from 24 countries and territories are displaying their garment and textile products at the 28th Vietnam Saigon Textile and Garment Industry - Fabric and Garment Accessories Expo which opened yesterday in HCM City.
The four-day exhibition, which lasts until April 2 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in District 7, is the only UFI – The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry-approved textile and garment industry event in Viet Nam, according to a representative of Viet Nam National Textile-Garment Group (Vinatex).
This year's event is also the biggest ever in terms of the number of exhibitors and the exhibit area of 30,000 s.qm.
The expo has created more favourable conditions for Vietnamese garment and textile producers to learn modern production technologies from advanced industrial countries.
It also helps domestic garment producers have access to up-dated producing technologies and more sources of materials.
At the four-day event, several seminars will be held on the garment industry's sustainable development, exploring the opportunities and challenges of the Trans-Pacific Partnership and free trade agreements.
The event is co-organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Viet Nam, Viet Nam Textile and Apparel Association, the Association Garment Textile Embroidery Knitting of HCM City, Vinatex, Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Hongkong CP Exhibition Company. — VNS
