Phase 1 would involve an investment of 1.4 trillion (US$65.7 million) and has been designed with a capacity of 28 megawatts (MW) and would produce an annual 100 million kilowatt-hour (kWh) of electricity in June 2016.
For the first phase, HTL has contracted American firm GE Energy for supplying 14 wind turbines.
Meanwhile, investor HBRE has also signed a joint development agreement for Phase 2, in which, GE, together with HBRE and HTL, will co-fund the development of future phases with the aim of promoting investment efficiency and guaranteeing the progress and quality of the project
Once finished, this will be the country's largest wind farm with a total capital of 120MW, producing 400 million kWh of electricity that will serve 200,000 households. — VNS
