Taiwan promotes VN sales

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Taiwan Excellence, a campaign to assist quality Taiwan companies raise brand awareness in emerging markets, was launched today in Ha Noi.

The campaign, organised by Taiwan Bureau of Foreign Trade and the External Trade Development Council, has led to a doubling of participating brands from 30 to 63 brands since last year..

Vietnamese consumers have access to a wide range of Taiwan's world-leading products, such as HTC smart phones, Acer laptops and tablets, SYM motorcycles, Luxgen cars and Gigabyte laptops.

According to research, consumer awareness of Taiwan ICT brands increased from four per cent to seven per cent from 2010 to 2012, while there was an increase from one to three per cent for goods for the home and living industry.

Taiwan Excellence will also be present at the International Precision Engineering, Machine Tools and Metalworking Exhibition (MTA 2013) being held by Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry in HCM City.

It will also have a presence at t and Vietnam Expo 2013 later this year.

Taiwan Excellence 2013 expects to increase consumer awareness of Taiwan's brands by 20 per cent this year and increase exports from Taiwan to Viet Nam by the same amount. — VNS
