The Ministry of Industry and Trade on Monday issued a circular on not applying import tariffs on salt and poultry egg products originating from ASEAN countries.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) has limited import quota for industrial salt to only 102,000 tonnes in a bid to support domestic salt production, the ministry’s chemical department said.
Local enterprises have asked the State to give them quotas on importing
industrial salt for chemical and health care sectors while the local raw
salt inventory remains high.
