The European Commission (EC) on Wednesday announced import quotas for some farm produce, including rice from Viet Nam in accordance with the European Union – Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has issued Circular No 04/2019/TT-BCT setting import quotas for salt, sugar and eggs for the period from April 17 to December 31, 2019.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has announced import quotas of 8,400 8,820 and 9,261 cartons of eggs (a dozen each) for 2017, 2018 and 2019, respectively.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) has proposed
to the Ministry of Industry and Trade that while allocating sugar import
quotas, priority should be accorded to factories which imported raw
sugar for refining amid an anticipated excess supply.
