Viet Nam is at risk of losing out on major pepper export markets due to increasing logistics costs, according to the Viet Nam Pepper Association (VPA).
Viet Nam’s output and export of pepper increased sharply last year, but their prices and thus turnover from exports fell, according to the industry association.
Viet Nam''s farming, fishery and forestry product export value in the
first 10 months of this year was estimated at US$24.6 billion, a
year-on-year reduction of 3.8 per cent.
Viet Nam pocketed around US$2.39 billion from
agricultural and fish exports in September, according to the Ministry of
Agriculture and Rural Development.
