A proposal to establish the Viet kieu (Overseas Vietnamese) Bank in Viet Nam has been raised at a meeting between Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Viet kieu experts last week.
Vietnamese banks have more opportunities to establish and expand their
presence in international markets, Gary Hwa, Ernst & Young''s (EYs)
regional managing partner for financial services for Asia Pacific, said.
Nearly 42,400 enterprises were established in the
country in the first seven months of the year, down 7 per cent in the
number of new businesses as compared to 2013.
The number of enterprises established in the first five months of this
year increased 4.8 per cent to reach 31,009, according to the Department
of Business Registration Management.
