The value of aquatic exports in July fell below US$1 billion for the first time in 2022, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).
Viet Nam’s agricultural and aquatic exports to China are likely to face higher quality requirements and stronger competition from other ASEAN exporters although China’s demand for these goods is still on the rise.
The agro-forestry-fisheries export turnover in April was estimated at
2.97 billion USD, bringing the four-month figure to over 10 billion USD,
up 11 percent against the same period last year.
Aquatic exports of Bac Lieu Province in the first five months of 2014
leapt by 68 per cent from the year before to reach US$170 million,
highest ever for the period.
Viet Nam gained a year-on-year increase of 10.4 per
cent in the value of farm, forestry and aquatic exports to US$12.1
billion during the first five months of this year.
The southernmost province of Ca Mau earned US$185.46 million from
exports during the first two months of 2014, equivalent to 15.56 per
cent of the yearly plan, and up 97.53 per cent year-on-year.
