Passenger volume through Vietnamese airports reached more than 81 million passengers in the ten months of 2022, with 100 million forecast for the whole year. In 2019, the number was 120 million.
The Government Office has asked the Ministry of Transport to consider a proposal by Ninh Thuan Province to use a military airport also for commercial purposes.
Vietnamese airports are estimated to have served 106 million passengers and handled nearly 1.5 million tonnes of cargo during 2018, up 12.9 per cent and 7.7 per cent year-on-year respectively, reported the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV).
Passenger traffic through Vietnamese airports hit 52.8 million in the first half of this year, a surge of 14 per cent year-on-year, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam reported.
