The Vietnamese tea sector should work harder to improve the quality of its exports in order to better tap the global market, including Russia, experts have said.
Viet Nam should build a specific roadmap on food branding as food has
been the sector with huge potential, Do Thang Hai, deputy minister of
Industry and Trade said.
Viet Nam''s tea producers should meet Fairtrade International''s
certification standards to increase the competitive quality of tea
products and improve their export value, said experts.
Tea growers and enterprises should step up application of national
quality standards and improve product packaging and design if they are
to reverse a first quarter decline in exports, experts say.
Viet Nam exported 88,000 tonnes of tea in the first eight months of the
year, earning US$140 million, according to the Ministry of Agriculture
and Rural Development.
