The Saigon Cable Television (SCTV) said it would broadcast
television programmes using the 4K standard in Viet Nam this September,
the first of its kind in the country.
Vietnam Television (VTV) will divest its holding in three pay TV units
including Viet Nam Television Cable Corporation (VTVcab), Sai Gon
Tourist Cable Television (SCTV) and K+, said Tran Binh Minh, VTV''s
General Director.
Unfair competition will give more influence to enterprises in the pay TV
market and harm the rights of consumers, said the Deputy Director of
the Ministry of Industry and Trade''s Competition Management Department,
Nguyen Phuong Nam.
