HCM City’s industrial production saw positive growth in the first quarter of the year despite the continuing difficulties caused by COVID-19 and recent challenges such as rising petrol prices and the Russia – Ukraine conflict.
HCM City’s industrial production grew by 7 per cent in the first half of the year, almost exactly the same as a year ago, according to the city Department of Industry and Trade.
HCM City’s industrial production was forecast to maintain steady growth in 2018 with the industrial production index (IIP) to rise about 8- 8.5 per cent against last year, according to HCM City’s Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT).
HCM City’s industrial production index experienced a year-on-year increase of 7.5 per cent in the first half of this year, the highest level recorded in the past five years.
