Việt Nam has been officially classified as a “low-risk” country under the European Union’s new Anti-Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), according to a recent announcement by the European Commission (EC) in Brussels.
This marks a significant milestone for Việt Nam, providing a reliable information platform to assist businesses in complying with the European Union''s Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
The European Commission has proposed to postpone implementation of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) by on year, allowing Vietnamese companies to be fully prepared in their due diligence obligations, according to the Việt Nam Trade Office in the EU.
About €2.3 billion of Vietnamese exports will fall under new EUDR regulations to combat deforestation, with coffee, timber, and rubber being the staples.
