Three clam farming co-operatives in Trà Vinh Province with a total area of 433ha have been awarded the Aquaculture Stewardship Council quality certification.

The first three fish farms raising tra fish for export in the Mekong
Delta province of Vinh Long have received certificates from the
Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC), opening the door to larger
markets.
The newly-approved five-year farm bill on February 4 which has caused
worry for Vietnamese tra and basa producers would not have direct affect
this year, said Truong Dinh Hoe, general secretary of the Viet Nam
Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).
