The export revenue of timber and woodwork products is projected to
reach US$7.4 billion, $200 million less than the target set for the
sector this year.
Dong Nai''s woodwork and ceramic products have strong potential for
direct export to the US market, a US business delegation said, while
meeting with Vietnamese firms in the southern province.
Viet Nam is ranked sixth among the world''s largest woodwork exporters,
according to the Commercial and Industrial Information Centre under the
Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Many companies in the local woodwork industry have halved the volumes of
imported timber to minimise their inventories and ease pressure for
bank loans.
