Viet Nam has many opportunities to increase white-leg shrimp exports to the European Union (EU) in the future, according to the Viet Nam Association Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).
According to the Government’s master plan for the fisheries industry until 2020, Dong Thap is not in the list of localities zoned for white-leg shrimp breeding.
The Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) has
said shrimp exports generated a turnover of more than US$3 billion at
the end of last year.
For the first time ever, exports of white-leg shrimp have surpassed
those of giant tiger prawns, said Truong Dinh Hoe, general secretary of
the Viet Nam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).
