Most enterprises in southern Dong Nai Province affected by the May riots
sparked by China''s placing its oil rig in the East Sea were able to
resume business within a few weeks, and some expanded operations.
Authorities in the southern province of Dong Nai have provided support
to factories damaged in the riots on May 13-14 and are set to provide
more, they said at a meeting with affected companies in Bien Hoa city on
Wednesday.
Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh yesterday visited
foreign companies affected during the anti-China riots in mid-May in
Binh Duong Province.
Bao Viet Insurance Company on June 6 compensated some foreign direct
investment enterprises affected by recent riots in southern Binh
Duong Province with nearly VND27 billion, or US$1.28 million.
