Viet Nam, for the first time in decades, has signed a contract with India to buy 70,000 tonnes of 100-per cent broken rice from India to meet increasing demand of low-cost rice in the domestic market for producing animal feed.
Thirty importers from Hong Kong (China) said they want to enhance rice trade with Vietnamese partners while attending a seminar held in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho on Tuesday.
Egypt has agreed with Viet Nam to import one million tonnes of white rice for the next three to four months after curtailing cultivation earlier this year, head of the rice division of the Egyptian Federation of Industries Rajab Shehata said on Thursday.
