Gold prices soared near VND57 million (US$2,486) per tael (1.2 ounces) on the local market on first day of the week while the yellow metal also made its history in prices, hitting an all-time high.
Domestic gold price soared to surpass VND49 million (US$2,100) each tael (1.2 ounce) this morning when the global prices of the yellow metal climbed to its multi-year high.
The domestic gold price rose 16 per cent to hit a six-year high in 2019, while global prices also increased about 18 per cent to reach a nine-year record.
The price of gold at commercial banks declined sharply yesterday after
the State Bank of Viet Nam announced a commitment to stabilising the
gold and forex market.
