The northern province of Hai Duong will favourable conditions and offer preferential policies for businesses investing in high-tech agriculture, post-harvest preservation, slaughterhouse construction and production chain development, provincial authorities said.
The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Cao Duc Phat, said
this week that post-harvest losses in farm production were still high
due to the low growth of mechanisation.
Thirty years of industrialisation and modernisation and some remarkable
achievements notwithstanding, the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta has failed to
fulfil its agricultural potential, experts have said.
The increased use of machines in agricultural production has
significantly contributed to improved productivity in agriculture,
minimised post-harvest losses and raised farmers'' income.
